Midget 16s Headed to Atlantic District Championship

The Old York Road Raiders Midget 16A team is heading to the Atlantic District Championship this weekend.

The team ended their season in a tie for fourth place in their division at 17-6-3. They didn’t clinch their playoff spot until the last game of the season with a 6-1 win over the Delaware Ducks.

The Raiders defeated the second seed Quakers, 3-2 in over time, in the first game of the playoffs. They took a loss the second game to the third seed, Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In the last game, they beat the Quakers again, 4-3 in a thrilling, but nail-biting, triple over time where Nikolai Portner netted the OT game winning goal on a beautiful pass from Coleman Peppelman.

They now advance to the Atlantic District Championship where they will face three teams from New Jersey.

This is HUGE. A team from Old York Road hasn’t advanced and represented #RaiderNation in Districts since the Nationals-winning ’96 team their Bantam year. Before that, it was some time in the late eighties. No Raiders Midget team has gone to Districts. History is being made!

We would love to pack the stands with Raiders fans! Come support the Midgets in this awesome endeavor!
